Is Prosecution to appeal on ex RSSB leader court decision?

Rwanda prosecution said to deeply investigate the case of Kantengwa Angelique over court decision to discharge the former Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) director general with illegal tendering and abuse of public property.

She is accused of misuse of property of public interest and making a decision based on favouritism, friendship, hatred and nepotism.

The prosecutor in a court said her decisions caused an average loss of Rwf1.6 billion, while the project also delayed, and, as a result, the houses being constructed will be more expensive.

After the overall allegations and the discharge of Kantengwa Angelique, Rwanda prosecutions is conducting a deep analysis on the reason; Nyarugenge Intermediate Court let her free.

Nkusi Faustin, Rwanda prosecution spokesperson said that they respect court decisions; but also need to go through the case. “What happened is that the woman set free, the decision has to be respected since it was based on each side’s justifications”.

He added that they are going to go through to raise avowal whether they agree or disagree with court decisions. “We are going to go through and investigate the justifications of the court to decide, it was the first category and the case may be transferred to court of appeal; we still have 30 days”.

In March 2015, Kantengwa Angelique temporally released from jail by Nyarugenge intermediate course over health problems and she is still out.
