Urban Boys conquest sixth round of PGGS to became the first group to win Primus Guma Guma Super Star music competition, beating nine others to the grand prize of Rwf24m on Saturday evening.
The trio of Safi Niyibikora ‘Safi’, James Manzi ‘Humble Jizzo’ and Muhammad Nshimiyimana ‘Nizzo’ beat RnB singer Christopher Muneza who became the first runner while Itahiwacu Bruce ‘Bruce Melodie’ emerged third.
“We are delighted. We gave it our all and it has paid off,” said Humble Jizzo; who presided on behalf of the group.
Urban Boys won the competition after snubbing the previous edition. Kina Music star Christopher was content with the outcome. He walked away with Rwf7.5m.
“I am fine, not complaining, because I came here knowing that anything can happen. It is a competition,” said Christopher, who had returned to the competition, having missed out in 2015.
A dissatisfied Bruce Melodie with Rwf 7m said the results did not reflect justice and immediately took to social media to urge his fans to stay calm “because in such competitions, there will always be manipulation.
Others proclaimed consecutively, 4. Danny Vumbi; 5. Young Grace; 6. Allioni; 7. Jules Sentore; 8. Danny Nanone; 9. TBB and finally Umutare Gabby.
The recent winners are R&B singer Tom Close who lift it for the first time and King James, Rapper singer Riderman, Jay polly and Butera knowles.
